Weekend update: just in time for wednesday… we installed a pet door so the beasts could let themselves in and out and we wouldn’t have to waste half an hour to come home on lunch break just to let the puppy out to pee every day. Sounds good on paper, but the cat and dog were so petrified by the clicking sound that the pet door made that they wouldn’t go near the damn thing. Try as we might, we couldn’t get the dog to use it. He would go through it when we held the flap open for him, but he wouldn’t nudge his way through on his own. We kept shoving him through it back and forth but he didn’t get it. You could be on the other side and call to him until you were blue in the face, and he would just look at you (through the clear plastic flap) whining because he couldn’t get out. I thought it was hopeless. Well, today i came home on my lunch break and he was outside - he had walked through the door on his own! I was so proud of him, like a parent whose child just learned how to walk. Good boy.
Oh, and the pics are courtesy of the new digital camera (Canon A70). We took a few pictures this weekend at the dog park, at breakfast, made a home depot wish list, got a few pics of the hood, and of course the new guy…
